Workshops University Library

The University Library offers year-round courses and workshops for students, researchers and staff. The courses can be attended online and offline, or be done as self-study.

Some popular courses are described on this page. You can find our full range of courses in the calendar.

Endnote
EndNote workshops come in three flavours, depending on your experience level on working with EndNote: Light, Basic and Advanced.
EndNote is a time saver when writing your paper and can help preventing incorrect references and citations. It is a good management instrument in keeping track of your gathered literature.

Finding literature
These workshops help you find literature. Get a better understanding of the basic principles of finding literature, and improve your search strategies.

Writing a Data Management Plan (DMP)
In this course you learn how you write a good Data Management Plan (DMP) for your research project. The course is aimed at PhD'ers at the beginning of their research project (± 1st year). Faculty specific courses are available year-round.

Data Conversations
VU Data Conversations are intended for VU Amsterdam researchers, students, support and management staff, data stewards and data specialists. The goal of these meetings is to create a space for knowledge sharing between different faculties and disciplines. The topics discussed include research transparency, reproducibility, open methods and open data.

LibGuide Courses
In the LibGuide you find online course materials on information literacy as well as specific courses on several disciplines. These courses can be used for self study and can also be integrated in course design.
