Research Clinical, Neuro- & Developmental Psychology

Our research is direct or indirect and is always aimed at reducing the disease burden of people with psychological problems.

Clinical Psychology research focuses on understanding and supporting people who experience difficulties with their emotions, thoughts and behavior. Clinical neuropsychology combines various psychological disciplines and investigates the characteristics of common neurological and brain disorders. At Clinical Developmental Psychology we investigate how atypical behavior in children and young people arises and is maintained, always involving the environment of the child or young person, such as the family, school and cultural background.

The Clinical, Neuro- and Developmental Psychology research department is divided into three sections, each of which is responsible for its own research area.

Research

  • Clinical Psychology

The aim of the research in the Clinical Psychology section is to develop and improve the prevention and treatment of mental disorders, and to reduce the disease burden of these disorders worldwide. Much of our research focuses on developing innovative psychological interventions, including scalable and digital interventions, and studying their effects in randomized controlled trials. In addition, we summarize existing research in meta-analyses and promote the implementation of effective innovative treatments. Finally, we also focus on factors that cause and maintain mental health problems through epidemiological and cohort studies.
