Exemptions on the basis of a completed university degree Law

If you have completed a degree, either at an academic university or at a university of applied sciences, you may be eligible for a number of standard exemptions. For details see below.

You can submit a request to be granted the listed exemption to the Examination Board.

If you have completed a Dutch Law degree or an SJD degree at a university of applied sciences, please consult the Dutch page for information on the possible exemptions.

Law

Bachelor’s degree (academic or applied sciences)Minor – 30 EC if you completed the minor of the bachelor with courses which were completed with a passing grade
Master’s degree (academic)

In the bachelor: Minor – 30 EC

In the master: free elective – max. 12 EC if you completed the free elective component of the master with courses which were completed with a passing grade

Notary Law

Bachelor’s degree (academic or applied sciences)No exemptions
Master’s degree (academic)

In the bachelor: no exemptions

In the master: free elective – max. 6 EC if you completed the free elective component of the master with courses which were completed with a passing grade

Criminology

Bachelor’s degree (academic or applied sciences)Minor – 30 EC if you completed the minor of the bachelor with courses which were completed with a passing grade
Master’s degree (academic)

In the bachelor: Minor – 30 EC

In the master: free elective – max. 6 EC if you completed the free elective component of the master with courses which were completed with a passing grade
