Whatever programme you choose, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) challenges you to look beyond the boundaries of your studies, both at society and at yourself. You will have ample opportunity to develop as a student, not only academically, but also personally and socially. At VU Amsterdam, we call this a 'Broader Mind'. After all, once you graduate, you may find yourself working in diverse circumstances and with people from all different kinds of backgrounds and disciplines. Being prepared for this will be an asset to you in the long-run.
That is why VU Amsterdam organises 'A Broader Mind for Students' (ABM4S). Under this initiative, you can choose from various activities: work on your personal development, social awareness and communication skills in the short Broader Mind Course; roll up your sleeves in Community Service Learning (CSL); or join one of the VU Dream Teams. During all these activities, you’ll have the opportunity to you will meet students from other faculties with whom you will collaborate on challenges and issues of tomorrow.
With ABM4S, the VU offers you the opportunity to lay a solid foundation for your later personal and professional life. Additionally, this initiative aligns with the VU Strategy to contribute to a better world through education and research.
