To create societal impact, it's not enough to merely share scientific publications; active engagement with users, funders, and affected communities is essential. This involves including citizens in research, sharing findings with a non-academic audiences, and genuinely listening to external perspectives. Public engagement is a continuing conversation between science and society. Standing closer to society helps researchers to address real-world issues and builds support and trust in scholarly work.
Engage with Society
Open Science allows the non-scientific community to engage with scientific research. Citizen science as such, can contribute greatly to solving society's most pressing issues.
