First, you follow a pre-master’s programme of about 30 EC within one academic year. After finishing the pre-master’s programme, you can start one of the two-year master’s programmes. You are entitled to about 30 EC exemptions in your master’s for didactic courses. In the 30 EC that are freed up, you may have to take courses that provide knowledge specific for your school subject.

Within two years, you obtain a first-degree teaching qualification in English, Dutch, or Latin and Greek.

Then choose this master’s programme, which trains you to become a first-degree teacher of Social Studies and Social Science, History, Religion and Philosophy, General Economics, or Business Economics.

Would you like to share your passion for the natural sciences with students? Become a teacher in secondary education! This programme allows you to obtain a master's degree in the natural sciences and a first-degree teaching qualification in Geography, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics within two years.
Note: our teacher training programmes are taught only in Dutch and train you to become a teacher in secondary school education in the Netherlands. We therefore require our students to have a proficiency of the Dutch language at a professional level (NT2-programma II) and to live in the Netherlands during the programme (in order to attend lectures and practice at Dutch secondary schools).
