Summer School session overview

Find out when VU Amsterdam Summer School courses are happening

Summer School will run between 5 July and 3 August 2025. Courses are either one-week long or two-weeks long. 

Session 1 courses are all two weeks long, session 2a courses are two weeks long and session 2b courses are one week long. Sessions 2a and 2b run simulatenously.

It is possible to follow two courses in two different sessions, as long as there is no overlap. This means courses in session 1 can be combined with courses in either session 2a or 2b, for a total of three or four weeks of summer learning!

The dates shown include arrival and departure days. Courses run from Monday to Friday.

Sessions

  • Course overview per session

    Starting in July 2025 we offer one- and two-week courses. You can follow one course per session!
    We offer two sessions in July. It is possible to follow two courses in two different sessions, making your summer school a total of three or even four weeks! Courses in session 1 can be combined* with courses in either session 2a or session 2b. Make the most of your summer in Amsterdam by choosing two sessions!

    Session 1: Saturday 5 July to Saturday 19 July
    Session 2a: Sunday 20 July to Sunday 3 August
    Session 2b: Sunday 20 to Sunday 27 July

    *It is not possible to follow courses in the same session as classes will overlap.

    The dates mentioned include arrival and departure days. Courses run from Monday to Friday, weekends are off to relax, explore and for self-study (some exceptions might occur).

  • Session 1: 5 to 19 July

    Session 1 runs from Saturday 5 July until Saturday 19 July. This includes arrival and departure day on the first and last Saturday. The courses run from Monday to Friday.

  • Session 2a: 20 July to 3 August

    Session 2a runs from Sunday 20 July until Sunday 3 August. This includes arrival and departure day on the first and last Sunday. The courses run from Monday to Friday.

    • Visual Ethnography in Social Sciences
  • Session 2b: 20 to 27 July

    Session 2b runs from Sunday 20 July until Sunday 27 July. This includes arrival and departure day on both Sundays. The courses run from Monday to Friday.
