What can you do with Mentimeter?
Mentimeter is used to make your study group or lecture more active and to get students more involved in the topic. Use for example:
- Online voting
- Create interactive presentations
- Respond via mobile phone
- Immediate and easy interpretable results
- Share and export results for further analysis
- Compare results over time to measure student progress
- Online Q&A sessions
Didactics
Mentimeter is very suitable to support active blended learning and fits very well in the Flipped Classroom approach to education design. With Mentimeter you can give students specific assignments during lectures or workgroups and collect opinions, ideas or answers to questions in an anonymous manner (though you can also collect personal information if you want).

Log in Mentimeter
Mentimeter is available for all staff and students of the VU who have an email address ending in vu.nl, student.vu.nl, acta.nl, student.acta.nl or vumc.nl. If you already have a free, basic or pro account for Mentimeter using one of these email addresses, you can upgrade this account to the VU campus license. If you don’t have a Mentimeter account yet, you can create a new account yourself. You don’t need an account for voting.
To create a new account:
- Go to www.mentimeter.com/join/vrije-universiteit
- Log in with your VU credentials
After creating your account, login to Mentimeter using www.mentimeter.com/login. Click on "Log in with SSO", search for "Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam" and log in with your VU credentials.
