What does the ODC do?
The ODC of the Faculty of Humanities is the faculty delegation of our Works Council. It represents the interests of employees and plays a vital role in our faculty's decision-making. The ODC has advisory rights on all policies and the right of consent in many important matters, such as the main lines of the budget. This enables the ODC to monitor the faculty board's policies. Furthermore, the ODC can also take initiatives itself. In recent years, for instance, we have used surveys to investigate employees' views on faculty board plans and their possible effects.

What does the secretary do?
Besides regular tasks for the ODC, the secretary deals with secretarial matters such as signing in and out members to the Works Council, writing the minutes of ODC meetings and maintaining our mailbox and archives. Additional hours are compensated for secretary's duties.

What are the goals of the ODC?
The ODC aims to be a sounding board for faculty employees. We want to keep in touch with what is going on in all sections of our faculty, both WP and OBP. It is therefore also important that different departments and work units are represented in the ODC. Membership of the ODC will cost you time, but ODC members do receive hourly compensation! In addition, as a member, you get to see the interesting decision-making of the faculty, you are entitled to training and, more importantly, you get to advice, vote in and therefore co-decide.
