VU vacancies are published internally and externally at the same time. Existing VU employees will be given preference if they are equally suitable.
In exceptional situations, it may happen that a vacancy is published that is intended exclusively for VU employees. Each vacancy indicates whether external candidates can apply. See for internal vacancies https://internal-jobs.vu.nl/

There are two types of vacancies within VU Amsterdam: employee vacancies for scientific and support staff and student vacancies.
