Internet allowance

Last updated on 4 August 2023
In the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities agreements have been made about facilitating hybrid working.

Employees with an employment contract in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement therefore receive a contribution towards internet costs of € 25 per month net, regardless of the working time factor.

The internet allowance is separate from commuting days and work-from-home days. Neither have any effect on the amount of the internet allowance. The internet allowance is also paid to you if you travel to VU Amsterdam every working day, provided that you are entitled to the internet allowance under the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.

This internet allowance does not have to be requested by the employee. VU Amsterdam expects you to ensure a properly functioning internet connection.

The following are excluded from the internet allowance:

  • On-call workers
  • Student assistants
  • Trainees
