At Open Science Week, we will discuss the four key pillars of open science: open scientific knowledge, open science infrastructures, open engagement of societal actors, and open dialogue with other knowledge systems (UNESCO, 2021). The week will kick off on 16th June with inspiration and co-ideation sessions among open science projects funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
We invite all VU staff and students, as well as international delegates from partner universities (including AURORA universities), to join the events on the 16th - 20th of June. During these days, we will engage in discussions on topics such as citizen science, Science Shop 2.0, knowledge equity in science, and the engagement of societal actors in research and education, among others.
As part of the AURORA in ACTION event on 18-19 June, we’ll bring together representatives from AURORA universities to showcase their commitment to societal impact and engage with local stakeholders, including residents, community partners, and policymakers. This event serves as a platform for co-creating solutions to global challenges, emphasizing sustainability and the societal role of higher education.
