ASI seed money call 2024 now open

25 September 2023
The Amsterdam Sustainability Institute is welcoming research proposals focused on a wide array of sustainability issues.

After several successful editions, we are excited to announce another call to receive inspiring and innovative proposals! We will be able to fund five proposals with up to 10.000 Euros. The ASI seed money program is meant for enthusiastic and ambitious VU researchers who are willing to go the extra mile to breach the invisible walls between disciplines. We believe that disciplines need to combine forces as together we can come up with promising ideas to tackle the climate challenges we face today.

Topics that are relevant to the call encompass enhancing our comprehension of natural climate change drivers and exploring strategies to influence behaviour change. Noteworthy projects from prior calls include research on food security within the Mapuche community, assessing the energy footprint of VU software, and studying public perceptions of hurricane risks.

The current seed money call closes Friday 1 December at midnight and the grant can be spent throughout 2024. You can find all requirements and the form to hand in your proposal here: ASI Seed Money Programme.

We eagerly welcome your most innovative ideas, particularly those with the potential for substantial societal impact. ASI is enthusiastic about fostering collaboration across different faculties, so we encourage you to team up with colleagues from various academic disciplines to amplify your research endeavors!
