The Centre for Global has signed an official partnership with Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), India, in which we have set out to collaborate in enhancing linguistic empowerment in 2024.
JNU runs a Linguistic Empowerment Cell for linguistically marginalized groups in India while the Centre for Global English runs the online course MOOC English Pronunciation in a Global World that is freely accessible for people who have no access to English. In addition, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) is the only Dutch University that offers a foundation year for International Students VASVU. The partnership was established at the VU India Science Seminar 26-28 October 2023, at which the Centre for Global English and JNU organized a seminar series on Global English: Issues and Practices in India and The Netherlands.
