ASI Seed Money & Innovation Research Booster 2025 now open

9 October 2024
Every year, ASI selects innovative research projects submitted by VU researchers for its seed money funding, with the aim to foster innovative and interdisciplinary research across VU faculties. The projects are intended to strengthen the VU profile theme of “Science for Sustainability”.

After several successful editions, the Amsterdam Sustainability Institute is excited to announce the new call for interdisciplinary projects on sustainability-related topics. This year, we will award Seed Money of up to €10.000 to three projects and a Booster of up to €20.000 to one proposal that shows an ambition to become an (inter)national grant application.

The ASI Seed Money and Booster programs are meant for enthusiastic and ambitious VU researchers who are willing to go the extra mile to breach the invisible walls between disciplines. We believe that disciplines need to join forces to effectively tackle the sustainability challenges we face today. Each project needs to be submitted by an interdisciplinary team of VU researchers. Partnerships with non-academic actors are encouraged but not required. Each Seed Money project can request up to €10.000, while the Booster proposal can apply for a budget of up to €20.000.

The deadline for submission is Monday 2 December at midnight CET.

The winners will be announced in mid-December. Do you have questions? Please get in touch with ASI Communications Coordinator Paulina Raniecka (p.raniecka@vu.nl) or join us for the online Info Session on 24 October (10:00 – 11:00). This is an open session, feel free to virtually walk-in with any questions.

You can download the PDF version of the proposal. Please apply via this application form.
