Bachelor student of Medical Natural Sciences Baraa Alsaadi, who is doing an internship at the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at Meander Medical Center, won the award for the best presentation on her research into the added value of GLEAMER.

GLEAMER is an AI program for recognizing fractures that is now used in the ER and in other departments within the hospital.

During the Science Symposium on November 26, Baraa presented her research on the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in improving fracture detection. Her presentation focused on the effects of AI assistance on the diagnostic performance of healthcare providers, emphasizing the results of their study, in which they investigated the effectiveness of the AI algorithm Gleamer BoneView. They found significant improvements in both the sensitivity and specificity of fracture detection, especially in complex cases. They also saw an increase in the diagnostic performance of less experienced readers, who, thanks to AI, almost reached the level of radiologists. AI not only helps to improve accuracy but also speeds up the process and increases the confidence of healthcare providers.
