The programme is a collaborative effort by 13 Dutch research universities, the Universities of the Netherlands association and the Netherlands Consulate in San Francisco.
Our goal is to give interns the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in an environment where cutting-edge ideas, disruptive technologies and forward-thinking entrepreneurs thrive.
Here’s what you need to know:
- All nationalities and fields of study are eligible to apply
- Internships can be a part of your studies or external, you decide
- You can decide when and where in the U.S. to do an internship
- J-1 intern visa allows you to intern for up to 1 year
- Internships are paid (minimum $3,500/mo)
Candidates in this programme will receive:

- Live webinars, office hours sessions, and personalized guidance
- Full support with the J-1 visa application
- Mentorship by industry professionals in the U.S.
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible for our program, you must meet one of the following descriptions:
- A Master’s student or PhD candidate from one of our 13 participating universities
- Recently graduated from a master’s or PhD program, as long as the internship start date is within one year of your official graduation date
