Over four intensive days, twenty-three participants from the US, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Norway, Austria, Australia, Singapore and Finland engaged with leading experts to explore the impact of digital and intelligent technologies on work and organizations.
The KIN Summer School is designed to help doctoral and post-doctoral students, pre-tenure faculty and early career researchers enhance their academic skills for conducting and publishing valuable research. Every year, we invite a different group of faculty members, considered the top international scholars in the field.
For this 12th edition we covered the topics of AI@work (speaker — Marleen Huysman, KIN Center for Digital Innovation, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam), Technology and Institutions (speaker — Nick Berente, University of Notre Dame, US), Distributed and Hybrid Work (speaker — Pamela Hinds, Stanford University, US), Algorithmic Organizing (speaker — Vern Glaser, University of Alberta, Canada) and Process Research (speaker — Hans Berends, KIN Center for Digital Innovation, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam). The School participants had the opportunity to discuss their work in progress with the faculty and received feedback on their own research.
Participants immersed themselves in the latest research literature on knowledge, information technology, and innovation in organizational contexts. They honed their skills in integrating diverse perspectives and research methods to critically analyze current organizational challenges. Additionally, they learned how the program's literature relates to their research projects and gained an understanding of the criteria for conducting high-quality research.
The KIN Summer School is organized by the KIN Center for Digital Innovation of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam together with the Amsterdam Business Research Institute (ABRI). The information about the 13th edition of the KIN Summer School will follow soon.
