Module 1 Impact through research: in-depth look at valorisation

In this half-day workshop, we will explore what impact means to you, how it can benefit your research, and how to take the first steps toward creating impact.

What can you expect?

  • Different motivations to engage with impact;
  • Tools to turn your idea into an application;
  • Insights into potential obstacles and how to overcome them;
  • Knowledge of the different forms of valorisation;
  • Guidance on structuring the impact process;
  • Information about available support;
  • What steps to be taken.

Who benefits from this workshop?
Researchers from Amsterdam knowledge institutions are welcome to join the learning path. The path is particularly suitable for late phase PhD students and postdocs who want to become proficient in valorising their research.

You can choose between the following dates:

  • Tuesday 15 October 2024 – 9.30-12.30h @ UvA Science Park Campus
  • Tuesday 12 November 2024 – 9.30-12.30h @ UvA Spui University Library
  • Thursday 12 December 2024 – 9.30-12.30h @ VU Campus

Participation is free of charge. Registration is required, so is cancellation if you are not able to attend.

Next session: Module 2 – Impact through research: focusing on your own practice
In this third module you will work on your own idea. During two interactive half-day sessions you will further develop and concretise your idea. By the end of these sessions, you will have a clear plan towards impact and an overview of the contacts in your network who can help you move forward. More information and registration

About the Learning path Valorisation and Impact
The Learning Path is composed of 2 modules of a total of 3 workshops interspersed with online information. Participating researchers can work on a number of skills corresponding to their own needs. Throughout the course the focus will be on translating your research into an idea that can evolve into a service, product or way of public outreach. Important: you can follow all modules as a continuous learning path or as self-standing. Read more
