The IITs are of very high quality and driving forces behind innovation, science and technology, for “The Future of Tomorrow.
During a panel discussion themed “Framework for Partnerships between IITs & Dutch Universities,” Professor Bernd Heidergott of SBE represented VU Amsterdam. The discussion highlighted how India and the Netherlands are complementary to each other, and that there is much to gain from joint research on topics such as water management, sustainability and health, with technology as a common thread.
President Margrethe Jonkman signed an agreement between VU Amsterdam and IIT Roorkee in the presence of dignitaries from OCW, the Indian Embassy and the Amsterdam municipality. During the opening speech, Margrethe referred to the importance of cooperation in working on global challenges. She also showed a photo of her internship at IIT Kharagpur, which garnered great applause!
