The event offered VU students a chance to explore various career options in Japanese companies based in the Netherlands and Japan.
Students eagerly interacted with experienced professionals, curious to learn about Japanese business culture and career prospects. The day began with a warm welcome from Floor Hermsen, Coordinator at VU SOZ Career Services, followed by an inspiring speech from Julien Rikkoert, Head of Japan Desk at Amsterdam IN Business, emphasizing the importance of the Netherlands-Japan business relations.
The highlight of the event was the informative cultural workshop and business etiquette session led by Andra Ordean & Wakana Kaitani, Recruitment Consultants at Nippon Recruitment. Their expertise shed light on Japanese culture and business etiquette, helping students gain a better understanding of the professional Japanese landscape.
The collaboration between Nippon Recruitment, VU SOZ Career Services, and VU SBE Career Services played a crucial role in organising this successful event, answering questions of students and providing students with valuable opportunities to enhance their employability.
As the day came to an end with a warm Networking reception, it was clear that Japan Career Day 2024 had achieved its goal of presenting exciting career prospects to our students. We extend our gratitude to all participants and contributors, and we look forward to further strengthening the Netherlands-Japan partnerships in the future.
