On the 21st-23rd of October the Amsterdam Centre for Dynamics and Computation hosted a workshop entitled The numerical brain: forward and inverse problems in neuroscience applications.
The event, co-organised by Daniele Avitabile and Svetlana Dubinkina, aimed to kickstart an international network of researchers working at the interface between modelling and numerical methods, with a specific focus in neuroscience applications.
The workshop hosted around 50 participants, with speakers and participants from European and American institutions. In addition to 18 research talks, the event featured 7 lightning talks from early-career scientists. There were ample opportunities for stimulating discussions, and drafting future research directions that the group can take in the future.
