Active Bystander training

Share
19 February 2025
In the Active Bystander training employees will learn to recognise and address inappropriate behaviours.

Imagine witnessing unacceptable behaviours. Think of for instance bullying, (sexual) harassment, belittling, insulting, discrimination, etc. It is pretty hard to be the one to speak up. You might be afraid, or you do not want to be the first to speak up, or maybe others may say you are overreacting.

Yet, you know that matters like this can very well contribute to a toxic culture in the workplace and lead to socially unsafe circumstances. A safe and pleasant environment also involves discussing undesirable behaviour and manners. The Active Bystander training gives you concrete tools to address behaviour you feel uncomfortable with.

How to challenge inappropriate behaviours? How to become an active bystander? Discover it in the Active Bystander training.

Sign up for this interactive, 1.5 hour training. Each VU employee can participate in this training, which will take place at VU Amsterdam on different dates, the first upcoming one on 24 March (in Dutch) and 20 May (in English). You can find the subsequent dates via the registration link.
