Education Showcase: VU Amsterdam lecturer on activating blended learning

8 April 2025
How do you get students genuinely involved with the course material? Christine Moser, associate professor of Organisation Sciences, shares how she brings her seminars to life using the Jigsaw method — with students stepping into the role of expert themselves.

Rather than reading passively, students take ownership of a single article, dive deep in ‘expert teams’, and then return to their ‘home teams’ to share what they’ve learned.

The result? Stronger preparation, richer discussions and a real sense of ownership. It creates a lively exchange that goes far beyond simply delivering content. “Co-creating a course with students makes teaching much more enjoyable and meaningful,” Christine explains.

Curious how it works in practice and how it might fit into your own teaching? Watch the video and get inspired.
