De Spiegelonderzoek

De Spiegelonderzoek en Advies is a Netherlands-based platform and social enterprise focused on empowering refugees and marginalized communities through innovative research and capacity building.

De Spiegelonderzoek is founded by Younes Younes, researcher at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, member of the Co-creation for Inclusive Knowledge Lab, and co-founder of the Yalla Foundation. We aim to create research that drives meaningful social change.

Our Expertise in Capacity Building:

  • Community-Based Research: We actively involve refugees in the research process, building their skills and amplifying their voices to ensure they play a central role in shaping the outcomes.
  • Training and Empowerment: We train refugees to become skilled research interviewers and data collectors, enhancing their professional capabilities and contributing to their personal development.
  • Fieldwork and Surveys: Our approach includes culturally sensitive fieldwork and tailored survey methods that capture genuine insights from diverse communities.
  • Interpretation and Data Analysis: With skilled interpreters and advanced analytical tools, we turn raw data into actionable insights that inform decision-making and policy development.

Our work with academic institutions, NGOs, government bodies, and businesses is guided by a commitment to produce research that not only informs but also empowers. At De Spiegelonderzoek, we believe in using research as a tool to build capacity and create opportunities for those who need it most.
