Many youngsters experiences a lack of space, appreciation and attention for their hybrid identities, in-betweenness and life experiences, due to dominant societal images, ‘single stories’ and fixed scripts in media and research. We focus on different groups of young people, who struggle to see their talents, knowledges and specific experiences recognized as valuable and on the essential role of intergenerational connections with caregivers, youth professionals, teachers and other adults. How can intergenerational connections supporting youngsters in their life path and create (collective) resistance to these limiting frames? We use creative methods such as storytelling and other art-based methodologies to create space for alternative imaginations.
