I took the Using Logic as a Tool for Modelling course, which was lectured by Dr Apostolos Tzimoulis and Dr Giuseppe Greco. The course helps me broaden my perspective, and formalize the thinking and analyzing process. What is more interesting was the course's diversity of attendees, with various study backgrounds. Starting from a bachelor's student to a Ph.D candidate, and all of them have different subjects of study, such as law, mechanical engineering, and computer science. At the end of the course, I made a final presentation with a fellow student with a background in biology and civil engineering, and each of us shared what we learned during the course and applied it to our areas of expertise. It was an amazing moment, where I could learn so many from the two-week course and I can apply it directly to my work.
Another reason for me to take the summer school program at VU was because of a nostalgic reason. I took my master's degree at VU in 2017 and I met my wife there. Seven years later, I returned to Amsterdam, taking my wife and daughter to reminisce about the moment at VU when we were a student, visiting the library, study spot, and the cafeteria. We also visited the places around the city where we used to go, such as Dam Square, Rijksmuseum, and of course the most memorable place, campus Uilenstede. VU Amsterdam will always have a special place in our hearts and we wish to always come again.
