The course opened up new perspectives for me and helped me enormously in my professional development - it will certainly not be my last summer school!
I was also deeply impressed by life in Amsterdam. Even if only for a few weeks, living in a different city shows you a whole new side of yourself. It was an inspiring experience to enjoy everyday life in this vibrant city, to experience the welcoming nature of the people and to immerse myself in their diverse culture.
A particular highlight of my stay was attending a course in Zaanse Schans - a paradise for windmills and ... cheese lovers! I was so inspired by the Dutch art of cheese-making that I'm now coming home with plenty of Gouda knowledge. My friends will definitely be looking forward to many new cheese stories!
At the weekends, I was also able to explore Den Haag, Gouda, Utrecht and Rotterdam. In addition to the cultural experiences, I made some wonderful friends and got to know people from all over the world.
I can highly recommend the VU Amsterdam Summer School. The experience was enriching on so many levels - professionally, culturally and, of course, culinarily!
