Solve today's complex business problems: from data to answers

Business Analytics (pre-Master's programme)

Are you interested in the Master's programme Business Analytics, but do not fully meet the entry requirements?

Then apply to this pre-Master’s programme Business Analytics. Check whether you meet the programme requirements and sign up.

Please note: if you obtained your Bachelor's degree abroad, and are thus an international applicant, you cannot apply to the pre-Master's directly. You always have to first apply to the relevant Master's programme, after which the admissions board can decide whether a pre-Master's programme is a suitable option.

Admission and application

  • Admission requirements

Admission is based on a strict selection procedure. The Faculty’s Admission Board will decide upon your admission after having evaluated your complete online application.

Specific admission requirements for the pre-Master's programme Business Analytics:

Students with a Dutch University of Applied Sciences degree (HBO)
In general, only students with a Dutch University of Applied Sciences (HBO) degree that is closely related to Business Analytics (i.e. with a strong focus on applied mathematics and computer science such as Business Mathematics (HBO) and Applied Mathematics (HBO)) are eligible for admission to the pre-Master’s programme.
An (HBO) bachelor's degree in (e.g.) Economics, Business Economics and/or Accounting is not closely related enough to Business Analytics to be admissible to the pre-Master's programme.

Students with a university bachelor’s degree
A student with a university bachelor’s degree is admissible to the pre-Master’s programme if after successful completion the student fulfills the master Business Analytics admission requirements:

    • 90 ECTS or equivalent of Mathematics/Econometrics/Computer Science courses at the BSc level.
    • 45 ECTS or equivalent of Mathematics courses at the BSc level, including Probability and Statistics.
    • at least one course (6 ECTS) of programming in Java, Python, C++ or another formal programming language that covers the OOP paradigm.

    International students

The pre-Master's programme is open to all international students who meet the admissions requirements, however, students with a non-Dutch bachelor's degree always need to apply for the master's programme first.

  • Application

You can find all general information about applying for a pre-Master's programme here for international degree holders and here for Dutch degree holders.

    The application deadlines are:

    • 1 April for non-EU/EEA students*
    • 1 June for non-Dutch EU/EEA students
    • 1 June for holders of a Dutch bachelor’s degree (with a Dutch or EU/EEA nationality)

*non-EU/EEA students who do not need a study visa and/or a residence permit can still apply until 1 June.
