The programme’s international approach is well-suited for a global career, around a quarter of our students conduct their thesis research outside the Netherlands, and many find work abroad after completing their studies. The focus on organizational processes and change is an obvious fit with consultancy, advisory and managerial roles – particularly where a people-focused approach is important. Several have gone on to launch their own consultancy firms. Many join the world of communication and external relations as our graduates are adept at bringing across complex information to an external audience.
A great number of graduates embark on a role (as a trainee) in the public sector such as in healthcare or educational institutions, where an innovative, qualitative research approach is essential to solving complex issues. COM graduates are suited to advisory and policymaking roles at non-profits, NGOs or international organizations as the programme’s focus on societal challenges makes them ideal candidates to advise on complex global issues such as the climate change crisis or the rise of digitalization. Moreover, a notable number of our graduates choose to further their academic journey by engaging in research and pursuing a PhD.
