Explore the past, shape our future

A Master's degree in Earth Sciences gives you great career opportunities.

Do you want to enter the labour market? Then you can work in many areas, such as in geology and environmental sciences. You can work as a technical geologist, geoscientist, mineral researcher, climate policy advisor or flood specialist. Your specialisation will help determine the course of your career.

You can also register for a national or international PhD programme and take a position in research and development. It’s also possible to do something completely different, such as becoming a science teacher in secondary education.

"There are many interdisciplinary Masters that bridge the gap between climate processes and sustainability/economy, but they only look at what happens due to these processes. The reason I chose this Master's is that I wanted to learn what causes the processes: What is the process of 'global warming' and how is it affected? What is the effect of deforestation on Earth’s climate and ecology? This Master focuses on understanding these processes."
