Environment and Resource Management (pre-master's programme)

Learn about the three pillars of sustainability

The pre-Master’s offers a well-balanced and diverse programme, and provides a challenging intellectual journey.

The ERM pre-Master’s courses coincide with the courses for the Sustainability: Global Challenges, Interdisciplinary Solutions minor. You have to complete the pre-Master’s within one year. Therefore, it is not possible to re-enrol for the pre-Master’s.

Study programme

The pre-Master’s programme consists of 30 EC and follows a logical order. First, defining the Grand Challenges of Sustainability (course 1), after which the three pillars of sustainability (Planet, People and Prosperity) are addressed separately, in respectively course 2 (Sustainability and Environmental Change), course 3 (Governance of Global Sustainability) and course 4 (Global Development and Prosperity). The pre-Master’s ends with course 5 (Designing Solutions for Sustainability), in which you will complete your Personal Case Study.

After successfully completing the ERM pre-Master’s, you can be admitted to the Environment and Resource Management Master’s programme.
