Take a journey through the fascinating world of antiquity

Would you like to learn the basics of the Latin language? Are you keen to read original source material from the ancient world? Are you interested in ancient philosophy and the religions of antiquity?

This minor programme teaches you about the language, literature, and broader culture of antiquity. You will learn elementary Latin: this enables you to read sources in the original language. At the same time, you will acquire knowledge of ancient philosophy and religion. Thus, you wil become acquainted with the religious traditions of Babylonians and Israelites, of Greeks and Romans. In addition, you will study the Christian religion as it developed in the first four centuries of the common era. You will discover how the ancient world continues to influence our world today.
