Learn to think critically about present-day issues

In the minor Philosophy you will learn to think critically about present-day issues.

It will introduce you to fundamental questions such as “What is a just society?” and “What is good science?” You will also become familiar with the ideas of great philosophical thinkers from history.

Three reasons to choose Philosophy at VU:

  • You get a carefully curated overview of the main sub-fields in Philosophy
  • You learn how to analyse current issues with the tools of philosophical argumentation
  • You will be able to critically reflect on philosophical issues arising in your own field of study
