Part-time PhD programme in Finance

If you want to become a pioneer in financial innovation and change, then the Part-Time PhD Programme in Finance is the right choice for you.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should hold:

  • An MSc or equivalent degree from a recognized institution. This can be a Finance degree, but also other MSc’s are strongly welcomed. Please be aware that this programme requires a certain level of quantative research skills.
  • Strong command of English (certified by IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent).
  • A commitment of 16 hours/week for research and coursework.


Programme Costs

  • Year 1 & 2: €12,000/year
  • Year 3: €6000 / €4000 (based on chosen trajectory)
  • Year 4 (and subsequent years): €4000


How to Apply?

You can apply for participation in the Part-Time PhD Programme (start September 2025) by taking the following steps:

Submit your application including:

  • Research topic description (max. 2000 words).
  • CV and academic transcripts.
  • Proof of English proficiency.
  • A valid passport or EU residence permit.
  • Letter of Reference/Support from organization (if available).

*Diplomas from professional programmes, certificate programmes, non-academic masters, and postgraduate programmes are generally not accepted as an entry qualification. To assess the eligibility of your degree, please contact the programme management.

** Since this is a part-time, module-based programme, we are not able to organise a Dutch study / residence visa for non-EU participants.
