Course levels (CEFR)
Each level starts four times a year 

  • Module 1: Beginners (0 > A1)
  • Module 2: Elementary (A1 > A2)
  • Module 3: Intermediate (A2 > A2+)
  • Module 4: Intermediate (A2+ > B1)
  • Module 5: Upper Intermediate (B1 > B1+)
  • Module 6: Upper Intermediate (B1+ > B2)

Course dates:

  • Period 1: 2 September 2024 - 24 October 2024 (course is fully booked, application no longer possible) 
  • Period 2: 18 November 2024 - 23 January 2025 (course is fully booked, application no longer possible)   
  • Period 3: 17 February 2025 - 10 April 2025
  • Period 4: 12 May 2025 - 10 July 2025

Holidays

  • Christmas Holidays: 21 December 2024 - 5 January 2025
  • Good Friday: 18 April 2025
  • Easter: 21 April 2025
  • Kingsday: 27 April 2025
  • Liberation Day: 5 May 2025
  • Ascension Day: 29 - 30 May 2025
  • Pentecost: 9 June 2025

Course length: 8 weeks per level

Time table: Monday and Thursday evening 18.00 – 20.30

Assignments: approximately 5-7 hours per week 

Price per module:

  • Standard € 790
  • Students of other Dutch universities € 595
  • VU students from module 3 onwards: € 395
  • VU PhDs: € 395

PhDs and students need a proof of employment/enrollment to be eligible for the price reduction.

EC points (extracurricular, only when faculty approves and only for students)
3 points per level (80% attendance is required as well as passing the final tests). These credits indicate the workload of the course and can only count as extracurricular credits. 

Registration: Registration for the course (period 3) is possible from 2 December 2024. There are limited places available and we maintain a short waiting list.
