Are you expecting a visitor? Register your visitor in advance or report it to the hostess in the reception hall of the building

Register your visitor in advance and/or report directly to the hostess in the reception hall of the VU building. The hostess can inform you when your visitor has arrived. Please note: visitors of the building Initium should be registered at the reception 24 hours in advance. 

  • Employees use 'take action now' button to register a visitor. 
  • Are you not employed by VU Amsterdam and/or not in possession of a VUnet ID? Please use the External Service Portal

Visiting dignitaries

If, as an employee of the university, you are organising a meeting or other event at VU Amsterdam that will be attended by dignitaries (ambassadors, political figures, members of the Royal Family, etc.) please let the Press Office and Public Affairs team know. They can support and advice on possible media coverage and the dignitaries' reception.

You can contact the Press Office and Public Affairs team at: press@vu.nl and publicaffairs@vu.nl. In the case of visiting dignitaries, please include in your email:

  • Name of visitor(s)
  • Reason for visit
  • Date and time of visit
  • Whether the visit of the dignitary of dignitaries concerned may be made public
  • Name, telephone number and email address of the contact person at the faculty, institute, department or association that is inviting the dignitary of dignitaries.
