Spatial heritage in societal challenges: Make a difference by connecting the past to the future

Sea level rise, social inequality, tourismification… today’s societal challenges are rooted in the past and have major impact on our landscapes. Heritage can play a key role in creating meaning and sense of belonging in a quickly transforming environment. This master programme enables you to give the past a place in landscapes of today and tomorrow.

Based in the World Heritage city of Amsterdam, the Master’s attracts students from all over the world who are eager to develop a critical view on conservation and transformation of spatial heritage. It offers a unique combination of politicshistorytheory and praxis of heritage, exposing tensions between preservation and transformation of the historic landscape, built environment and archaeological remains (click on the links for examples and testimonials).
