During the Master's programme in Literary Studies, you will explore the world of stories by looking at questions such as: How do you analyse stories? What functions do they serve? And how do you learn to read them? You will look at how stories are told through literary texts, paintings, music and films. You will also learn how the publishing business works and about the role of literary criticism.
You can choose from two specialisations:
• English Literature in a Visual Culture (English)
• Nederlandse letterkunde en het literaire veld (Dutch)
Three reasons to choose this master's programme:
- You will learn to look critically at literary expressions. Think about text and images in books, but also other literary expressions such as film.
- With this master's degree you will be widely employable in virtually the entire cultural sector, as a translator, editor or within the publishing industry.
- You can follow the one-year Master's degree programme in Language and Culture Studies. After that, you will be fully qualified to teach Dutch or English.
