As a result, you will be widely employable in virtually the entire cultural sector. You will not only be able to work as a teacher, translator or editor, but you will also be qualified for a job in publishing. Because we continuously focus on developing your research skills, you will also be well-prepared for a PhD or research position at a university in the Netherlands or abroad.
The role of literary texts and images in society
What can you do after your Master's degree?
Entering the job market
As a Literary Studies graduate, you can work in the broad literary-cultural field. Possible positions include:

Teaching
Did you know that there is a shortage of secondary school teachers in the Netherlands? After completing the Master's programme in Literary Studies, you can follow the one-year Master's programme Leraar Voorbereidend Hoger Onderwijs in de Taal- en Cultuurwetenschappen. This will provide you with the official qualifications to teach Dutch or English in the Netherlands, not only in secondary schools, but also in adult education.
